Autism specialists in Bristol
Autism Bristol was founded by Annie Kingston, a Consultant Speech and Language Therapist who has been working in the field of autism since 2005, working across both the NHS and the independent sector, with both the paediatric and adult population.
We are a small dedicated team of Speech and Language Therapists and technicians. We work collaboratively with independent Occupational Therapists and Clinical Psychologists to explore diagnoses, to address sensory processing issues, to unpick behaviours that challenge and to look at the day to day impact that Autism can have on a person’s life.
Speech and Language Therapy
Annie is a consultant Speech and Language Therapist who graduated from the University of Queensland, Australia in 2000. Annie has post-graduate training in PECS, Intensive Interaction, Makaton, TEACCH, PROMPT, Dysphagia and SOS feeding. Throughout her experience, Annie has learnt that there are many different ways to facilitate communication and emotional development, based on a person’s skill and their own personal desire to communicate and interact. Annie is passionate about using fun and enjoyment as the building base for development, as this is when people are relaxed, open to learning new skills and most likely to be successful.
